Is it safe? An honest word on pilgrimage now
We'll tell you the truth before we'll sell you a trip — including when the answer is 'not right now'.
The honest answer is: it depends, and it changes. Pilgrimage to the Holy Land has always moved with the news. After October 2023, arrivals to Israel fell by more than three-quarters almost overnight, and thousands of booked groups simply cancelled. At other times the same routes are calm, joyful, and full.
Why we'd rather lose a booking than mislead you
Because we don't take your trip payment and we don't profit from talking you into going, we have no reason to tell you a region is fine when it isn't. If a destination isn't safe, we'll say so plainly — and point you toward a journey that is. The footsteps of Paul through Greece and Turkey, or Rome, are often open and just as moving when the Holy Land needs to wait.
When you do travel, you go with a licensed, vetted partner operator whose business is safety and logistics, informed by official travel advisories. The final call is always yours, made with the real picture — never a sales pitch dressed up as reassurance.
The Way is a discovery & referral service, not a travel agency. We help you find and prepare for a pilgrimage; licensed partners run it.
